Bequia (pr. Bek-way).
Part of the Grenadine Island chain, 9 miles west of Mustique and Just 7 sq. miles in size. With it’s warm climate and average temperature range of 75 to 85 degrees (24 to 29c) throughout the year, Bequia is the perfect small Caribbean Island we all dream of.
Friendly and welcoming people, simple unhurried lifestyle, beautiful beaches and natural beauty make it one of the few Caribbean Islands to have retained it’s original character and old world charm.
Any time of the year is wonderful here. There is no bad time to visit being far enough south to avoid hurricanes. Some of the best times to visit are during the summer months of June, July and August when all our beautiful flora is in full bloom, the fruit crops are prolific and we are knee deep in mangoes!
With its centuries old traditions of inter-island shipping and trading, Bequians have been welcoming visitors to their shores for generations. Don’t be surprised if you are met with a warm hello by complete strangers you pass on the road.
Estate Tours
From Sugar Mill to Orchard
A truly unique and delicious experience, Firefly Estate offers something special for every visitor. Wander through acres of lush orchards filled with mangoes, bananas, breadfruit, guava, Bequia plums, and a wide variety of exotic crops grown right on the estate.
Enjoy a relaxed, guided walk of approximately 45 minutes through the grounds, where you’ll learn about the history of the estate and its sugar mill, dating back to 1789. Along the way, sample seasonal fruits and vegetables, crack open a fresh coconut, press your own sugar cane juice, and discover the many crops, herbs, and flowers that thrive here.
Children are welcome, making this an experience for the whole family. Bookings are required; tours run daily (except Mondays) at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm for EC$15 per person. Private tours are available at any time for EC$100 (maximum of eight people).

At the heart of it all, a sparkling swimming pool reflects the tropical light, calling you in for a refreshing dip at any time of day. Whether you’re floating in the water or lounging poolside, the atmosphere is calm, unhurried, and perfectly suited to switching off.
